Living room design ideas are, every day used formally, informally or only on special occasions. Its size varies from a small room from the entrance hall to hundreds of square feet. Whatever your type of living room, changes in your family lifestyle and require a reorientation of the conception.
Very few owners think they have enough storage capacity. When designing your living room, add in storage whenever possible. Use fitted wardrobes between windows to take advantage of otherwise wasted space. An ottoman adds comfort to your seating arrangement. Find one that opens to reveal a compartment to store blankets. Place baskets with hinges under the entrance table to hide magazines, games and reading material.
Think about who uses your living room and for what purposes. Create areas that meet those purposes. Television and watching movies require comfortable seating, tables to put a drink in and enough distance between the screen and the seats for proper viewing. A large-screen television has to be viewed from a greater distance than a small portable television. Establish a play area to play with chairs and tables. A reading corner requires lighting that does not interfere with the rest of the people in the room. Lighting is often overlooked as a design idea. Living rooms require ambient light. That is the light that fills the room, like sunlight entering through a window, but it is not for any specific purpose.
